Recipe batches
The collections the app ships with, as files you can download and import again — on a second device, after a fresh install, or just to see what is in them. Each file holds the recipes the way the app keeps them: name, ingredients, steps, the source page and its picture.
How to import one
- Download the file and put it in Documents › McLearen Kitchen › batches on the computer or phone that runs the app.
- In the app, open the Recipes tab › Import › “Import from a file” (or Settings › App diagnostics › “Import a recipe batch from a file”).
- The app shows what the file holds before anything is written, skips recipes you already have, and can file the batch into a meal group of its own.
New batches
More collections will appear here as they are made. Every recipe in a batch links back to the page it came from.
BBQ & smoking recipes
Barbecue, smoking and grilling recipes from AmazingRibs, Hey Grill Hey, HowToBBQRight and Traeger, stored as each site publishes them (Schema.org), chosen by rating weighted by how many people rated it. Meat Church was asked for too, but its site turns automated readers away, so none of its recipes are here.
Scottish & Irish recipes
Scottish and Irish home cooking from the sources Aaron named: Scottish Scran and BBC Food (their own Schema.org data), The View from Great Island (its Scottish and Irish recipes), The Wee Larder by Angie Milne and British Food: A History (recipe cards and posts read into the same shape), and British Food in America (its Scottish and Irish recipes). Each recipe carries its origin.
Top-rated recipes from ten sites
Recipes sampled from each site's sitemap on 2026-09-30, kept only when the page's own rating was 4.5 or better with enough ratings behind it (site-dependent floor from 10 on Serious Eats to 200 on Allrecipes). Names de-duplicated across sites. Allrecipes includes a second pass aimed at barbecue, grilling and cocktail recipes.
