01 Your kitchen, your way
Grandma’s favorite. That recipe you found at midnight. The one you perfected with an extra pinch of something.
Give every good idea a place to land — and every great meal a little more room to happen.
Take a closer look02 From idea to table
The best nights start with an idea. Follow it all the way to the table.
Your recipe book
Catch the idea, keep the details, and come back whenever the craving strikes.
Kitchen mode
Let the next step come to you while your hands are busy making something wonderful. A thermometer can watch the roast.
Meal plan and pantry
See what’s on hand, spot what’s missing, and let the next meal take shape.
Shopping list
The missing ingredients, sorted by the aisles of your store, priced from your Kroger — and in the cart in one tap.

A slow Sunday supper. A weeknight win. A little something everyone reaches for twice.

04 Inside the kitchen
Almost any website, a photo of a recipe card, a post someone shared, the file another recipe app exports. Each one is read, tidied and shown to you before it is kept — with its source credited.
Kitchen Mode reads the steps aloud one at a time, keeps the timers close, and takes spoken commands — next, back, start the timer — so your hands stay on the food. A Bluetooth thermometer watches the roast and the smoke planner works backwards from dinner time.
A recipe, or the whole week, becomes a shopping list that leaves out what you already have, in the aisle order of your own store. A linked Kroger account prices it and puts it in the cart; cooking uses the pantry up again.
Plan the days, see what a recipe costs at your store, and get a nutrition estimate per serving — each one explained, each one yours to correct.
Save a find to your MyRecipes box, copy a recipe of your own for Cookpad, send a batch to a friend, or export the whole library as the files Paprika and Mela read. Nothing is ever stuck here.
No account, no subscription, no ads, no import caps. Your recipes live in a database on your own computer and phone, and the whole thing exports in one go.
05 More complete, and in good company
Most recipe apps stop at a saved recipe and a categorized list, then ask for a subscription. McLearen Kitchen carries the meal all the way — from a recipe card on the counter to your store’s aisles, your cart, your pantry and the cooking itself — and keeps your recipes where they belong: with you.
| McLearen Kitchen | Most recipe apps | |
|---|---|---|
| Price | Free. No account, no subscription, no ads, no import caps. | A free tier, then a yearly fee; imports often capped. |
| Your recipes | On your devices, in a database you can export whole — and in the formats other apps read. | In their cloud; export is often one recipe at a time, or none. |
| Shopping | Your store’s own aisle order, Kroger prices, the Kroger cart in one tap, and a pantry that empties as you cook. | A categorized list, or a hand-off to a delivery service. |
| In the kitchen | Spoken commands, steps read aloud, Bluetooth thermometers, a smoke planner. | A cook mode; a thermometer is rare, and then Apple-only. |
| Where it runs | A native Windows app and an Android phone, in English and Spanish. | Phone-first, often Apple-only; a native Windows app is rare. |
| The week | A meal plan that knows the pantry, the cost of a recipe at your store, nutrition estimates. | A planner; prices and nutrition in the paid tiers, when they exist. |
We’re not here to replace the sites, the cooks and the apps you already love — we work alongside them. Import from almost any recipe site with the source kept and credited. Save a find back to your MyRecipes box, or copy a recipe of your own for Cookpad and the sites that take new recipes. Bring your library over from Paprika, Mela, Recipe Keeper or Copy Me That, and take it with you again as the Paprika and Mela files the others read. Share a batch with a friend. We’re about making the cooking experience better, for all.
